Handling Flagged Results & Edge Cases

Validia evaluates a combination of biometric and behavioral signals in real time. Each session results in one of two outcomes: secure or insecure. A participant is marked as insecure when their overall trust score falls below a defined threshold. This page outlines what that means, what to do when it happens, and how Validia still provides insight even without a bioprint.

What Triggers an Insecure Result

A session may be flagged as insecure if one or more of the following signals cause the overall trust score to fall below threshold:

  • Missing bioprint

  • Biometric mismatch (face or voice)

  • Deepfake risk indicators

  • VPN or proxy IP usage

  • Liveness or focus failures

  • Suspicious behavior such as multiple faces on camera or visual interference

If the combined signals meet or exceed the threshold, the session is marked secure.

What to Do When a Session Is Flagged

  1. Review Session Details Go to the Meetings tab and find the flagged event. Review:

    • Bioprint match or absence

    • Risk reason (such as IP mismatch or low confidence)

    • Timestamp and participant metadata

  2. Escalate Internally Follow your internal security or compliance process:

    • Alert IT, HR, or your security team

    • Decide whether to proceed with the interaction or require further review

    • Pause onboarding or block access until the issue is resolved

  3. Re-engage the User if Needed

    • If no bioprint exists, prompt the user to complete onboarding

    • For biometric mismatches, consider rescheduling or requesting additional validation

If No Bioprint Exists

Validia still runs trust evaluations using fallback signals:

  • VPN and IP reputation analysis

  • Deepfake detection for voice and face

  • Liveness signals and user interaction behavior

  • Attention tracking (in beta)

These signals help you make informed decisions even if the user has not yet completed onboarding.

Best Practices

  • Require onboarding before high-risk or sensitive meetings

  • Set up Slack or email alerts for immediate visibility

  • Review insecure results within 24 hours

  • Create a clear internal response plan for flagged events
